Cr David Wilson, City of Melbourne

Cr Wilson has a rich background in social sciences, having lectured in that area since 1981. He has performed drug and alcohol counselling work at Odyssey House and Melbourne Assessment Prison, and was involved in youth work in the 1970s and 1980s in St Kilda and Broadmeadows. Cr Wilson is Chair of the Community Services Committee. He has a passion for helping diverse groups work together to make Melbourne a great place to work, live, play and study, and was immediate past president of the residents’ group, Residents 3000. He is also committed to recognising the relational impact of all decision making and in his time at Council will always ask: ‘What are the impacts of Council decisions on people’s relationships within the community?”.
A chairman of various business and charitable organisations for more than 25 years, David is married with four children.
